MIL-T-85027(AS)
3.3 Performance
3. 3.1 General. The ABTS shall be capable of
verifying that the antenna array mounting pads are aligned
with respect to the machined boresight surface on the
antenna base within
milliradians. During this
verification, the antenna may be mounted in either Antenna
Mounting Stand MT-4445( )/AWM-23(V) at Low Frequency Test
Station OJ-215( )/AWM-23(V), or in Antenna Handling Adapter
MX-9046( )/AWM-23(V) or MX-9691( )/AWM-23(V).
3.3.2 Organizational level functional requirements.
Not applicable.
3.3.3 Intermediate level functional requirements.
Intermediate level functional capability shall be limited to
measuring the alignment of the two surfaces of the antenna
(see 3.3.1).
3.3.4 Warm-up time.
Not applicable.
3.4 Detailed functional requirements. The detailed
functional requirements of the ABTS shall be as stated
in 3.6.
3.5 Workmanship. Workmanship shall conform to
MIL-STD-454, Requirement 9.
The elements of the ABTS shall be
3.6 Set elements.
as follows.
3.6.1 Boresight fixture, antenna (array). The
boresight fixture, antenna (array) shall provide a means of
mounting the autocollimator on the antenna array boresight
pads.
3.6.2 Boresight fixture, antenna (base). The
boresight fixture, antenna (base) shall provide a means of
mounting the spindle mirror to the antenna base boresight
surface.
3.6.3 Spindle mirror. The spindle mirror shall be
adjustable and shall reflect collimated beams back to the
autocollimator when the mirror is mounted in the boresight
fixture on the antenna base.
3.6.4 Autocollimator. The autocollimator shall
provide an accurate means of simultaneously determining the
angular deviation of the reflected beam from the spindle
mirror in azimuth and elevation.
