SCOPE
1.1
Scope - The equipment covered by this specification shall be for the
purpose of performing organizational maintenance of Link 4A Airborne Digital Data
Communications equipment such as the AN/ASW-27B. The test set will decode the
aircraft Reply Message data and display the data in numeric and binary forms. Control
message data may also be received and displayed in a 42 bit binary display. The test
set will also generate stored Control Messages from a read-only memory for transmission
by the SM-51 1A/ASW. The stored messages provide the capabiIity of transmitting a
series of preprogrammed messages to fully exercise the Data Link equipment at organizational
maintenance level.
